I said I'd give my review of the "sidekick", (that teloscopic hook pole). The creator was on the buzz many times maybe 4 or 5 months ago pushing his product. He said he'd send me one to try and I should give my review on here. He was nice enough to send me one. I didn't think I'd ever really use it, but maybe new climbers would. I said I'd tell my review in a month or so.
Well, I think that was maybe 4 or 5 months ago??? Anyway, I kept it in my truck hoping to have someone use it sometime so I could say something good about it. I was really hoping to use it sometime cause the guy sent it to me free.
Well, it's never been used on a job yet.
I did use it once. I was at my parents house and I big rain storm was coming. They told me the gutter was clogged with leaves, I couldn't reach the clog so I went and got that sidekick thing. I couldn't reach all the leaves with it though, so my dad went and got his golf ball retreaver. (basically the same thing but his was longer) and his worked.
Well, I don't care for this product too much. If I need a pole, I'd have my pole hook sent up to me by my ground man. This thing isn't very long collapsed (maybe 1.5'), but still too long to have hanging on your saddle all the time waiting for that one time you may use it.
For a decent climber, I think this product would never be used. Maybe a very new beginner or a climber that is far up in their age would use it. But I doubt it.
This is just my opinion though.
