i'm a big beleiver in bending lines to leverage them. Just like anything else, the more the rope resist bending(becasue of how tight it is pretightened to), the more leverage power return you get on bending the line. Especially for sweating more purchase from line to pretighten. i've suggested a few rigs that bend the lines automatically on loading.
These rigs pictured are for remote bending by 2nd ground control personel of the line during hinging. First folding setting the hinge strength in response to the pull on it, so these rigs pull at that time. Most of the rigs can help sweating in to pretighten too. Some even give a tag line-on the line of the rig that is lowering. Some nice powerful turns can be gotten to sweep sideways off of roof and other traps.
