Remember the unusual machine in the youtube video in a previous thread?

I can't remember what thread it was in, but I think I have found out what the machine is.

It's vibratory bowl feeder for small parts. It's identifiable by the upward-sloping spiral bowl similar to ones in this video:
I have no idea how it fits in with whatever was going on in the video from the previous thread that I can't find.

More info has emerged. The rest of the machine is a stud welder for attaching nuts or bolts to metal parts.

The combination makes perfect sense. The feeder gets the little parts in the proper orientation so they can be welded in place with no fumbling around.

You can see the heavy electrical cable in the back going to the thick copper bar. The machine is really old, nothing like the modern variety.

I wish I knew what the fellow does with it.

One last bit of info. It looks like the roll of material to the left of the machine is insulation for sheet metal ductwork, and the machine was probably being used to secure the insulation in place with fasteners like these:

All this info is thanks to my friends over at Home Shop Machinist. They seem to be able to identify just about anything related to machinery.

Appreciate the updates. I spent about two hours trying to figure out what that machine was but never could. I was thinking spot welder or punch, but it didn’t quite line up. Unique machines fascinate me, doesn’t matter that they do, I just like machines.
