REI Pants

Hey guys, I remember someone telling me about some REI pants they had that were nearly as good as stretch air pants. Wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Dad is curious about them.

Thanks!

I have both the stretch air and a pair of REI brand hiking pants. They are both made of the Schoeller material. The REI pants are a wee bit more comfy, but they don't have the extras that the stretch air have, like the protected knees, and the gusseted crotch.

What's the name of the pants?

Sam - Its got to be only 25 minutes to REI for you - plus they have a great climbing wall. You get a 2 for 1 if you drive up and check them out!

I just grabbed a pair fo the Marmot Scree pants, wicked awesome! When I wear out another pair of pants, I will definitely be buying another pair of these.

i like that cargo pocket on the side like that but zippers require 2 hands; prefer velcro. that's the camera pocket and i would not like any slips with that.

Jim, every time I head up there the rock wall always has at least a 2hr + wait. But I think I will have to make a trip up there soon to use some of my points on my REI member card.

The pair I have are at least 5 years old. I bought them for backpacking and sometimes wear them to work. I don't think they sell these anymore, but if I recall they were called Schoeller by REI. The water resistance is way better than the stretch air on these, and I have even forded some streams in the Olympic National Park by duct taping the leg to my boot with nary a drop of water getting through during a short fording. I know the stretch airs will not match that.
