Reduce leaning maple, per ANSI A300

Scope: Acer rubrum leaning over house. Trunk condition good, vitality good. Pruning cycle: per need.

Objective: Lessen risk of stem or branches failing, maintain health and value.

Specifications: Follow ANSI Z and A300, current versions.

1. Reduce sprawling horizontal and downright branches growing toward the house back to laterals that are growing up or away from the house. <30% total # buds off, <7cm cuts.

2. Reduce upright branches in the upper crown, 3'-9' back, using cuts <4 cm. <20% total # buds off.

3. Thin remaining branches to avoid contact with each other in a 20 mph wind. <10% remaining buds off, cuts <3 cm.

4. Mulch rootzone, 2-3" with woodchips. Before pic attached.

so the good news is, complying with the ANSI A300 standard does not mean a lot of writing chores.

the bad news is, compliance does require that Scope be identified, Objectives defined, and Specifications communicated, and writing is really the only reliable way to get the job communicated clearly, to client and to staff.

This was TreeMachine's job, done a few months ago in the circle city.
