Recommend 11mm rope that can take two tight eyes?

I am going to build another lanyard abit longer than my current longest (maybe 30 ft) and was wondering if anyone has any different to suggest.

Want it grabby in the hand, but am considering putting a tight eye on each end.

I currently have lanyards of blaze, bandit and velocity and all grab fine. But not sure any of them would work well with a splice on each end.

What are folks using for longer lanyards with two eye splices?

Velocity is my favorite for lanyards.
I'd be curious to know how something like Tachyon or Imori would handle for people.

Also, can I ask what application you're wanting that 30 footer for?

I like long lanyards when advancing up a tree, like a second climbing line. Clip in a bag and can throw the line up and bob's your uncle.

I just got off the phone to my brother and asked him what he used. He says he sometimes carries a 30 footer with a snap on one end, a prussic, and a tight eye on the other. Can advance with it, or use the other end as a short positioning aid.

He lives in a different town, although I am going up there next week to see if we can find something to rec climb to maybe 265ft. He has one in mind, need to get in at 150ft. Then a traverse to a even taller one.

I have a 120 foot velocity lanyard with a tight eye on both ends. Works fine. Is your concern that the cover won't " settle" like normal and remain "puffy"?

You could always take a prussic and milk the slack off it a few dozen times just to make sure. you'd have to anchor it on a tree and then pull the prussic over the lanyard a few times to make sure its equalized.

Jman has got it. Almost any double braid can be "milked out" and the core and cover "stabilized" for minimal bunching up.

I have personally used velocity, tachyon, poision ivy and blue moon for exactly what you propose.

Welcom to the I-Love-long-lanyards club!
