Recoil failure

I have this 2077 Jonsered that has been a challenge to make work, was running well until recently, recoils seem to fail. Sam a friend who is handy thought a solution on the recoil so that it would engage properly would be to put a washer underneath the pawls:

Here are pics of the saw with recoils out: Recoils:

The spring broke on the one that looks intact; the other seems to have gotten chewed up.

Any thoughts on a long term fix would be appreciated.

Maybe find a 3D printing company and have them make you a new part, assuming you can’t buy one somewhere.

Which part? Some of the parts for these Jonsereds are available. Also I don't see 3D printing as practical for most saw applications when there are much less complicated solutions.

The plastic chewed-up part. I assumed that it was not available since you were looking for repair alternatives. If you can’t get a part, and need one, 3D printing works great. Or just buy a new saw, and solve the problem that way. That’s generally my solution, I’m not willing to put up with cantankerous saws anymore. Downtime is too expensive and my time is worth too much to me to spend it all working on broken saws.

I can't imagine how complicated it would be to get the original schematic on a part like that, then finding someone who knows how to plug it in to the right 3D printer, this is just not practical at all....

Used recoils and other parts are readily available, and Husky/Jonsered have interchangeable parts in many cases.

The problem remains that my friend wanted to raise the two pawls with washers, that may have set up a problem situation with the extended pawls not functioning correctly and chewing up the recoil. The solution would be to address the pawl issue.
