This was at the Ontario Commercial Arborists' Association Annual Day of Service. Each year they pick a charity and donate a whole day's worth of tree work to the cause. This was my first one and we had a blast! Looking forward to it again next year...

Why the Red Oak removal?

It was a 4-stem tree in the bush, near a trail that the kids used to get down to the creek. One of the big stems had broken off in a storm, and the rest of the tree was recommended for removal. We felled one of the remaining 3, and then we climbed the other 2 to piece them down and try to reduce damage to the understory...
