We have a Cummins on ours. Never noticed much build up. We wash and blow everynow and then.
We must have a strong fan, it about sucks you up against the radiator if you get too close. I'll look at the size of the slits today.

So 80 degree day and this is how we roll. Some thing is ill with your chippers if they over heat.
