"Quiet, I'm putting" aka Tiger Woods

\"Quiet, I\'m putting\" aka Tiger Woods

Maybe this is the wrong place to post this but who cares. During the Soutern ITCC comp throwline event I distracted a fellow group member. I was watching and reminding them to call headache when a friend began talking to me. Rudely, I returned conversation. Then the climber burst out with "shut the fu!k up". Shocked I backed away. Later I apologized for my rudeness. Much to my surprise he did not accept my apology. It seems that if you don't take the time to untangle your throw lines before the event, you can blame it on everyone around you. I'm really sorry you threw a 0, because of your cluster-fu!k, but it ain't the olympics and maybe you have performance anxiety. Good thing you did not make it to the Masters Challenge since all those people would be watching you. If you put your hearing protection on maybe you can tune the rest of the world out. I'm sure that 3year old watching doesn't know what "shut the fu!k up" means anyway. Your a pus and the best I've seen at remotely installing a throwline(x3)!

Wow....

First off, profanity at the comp. should be grounds for a DQ in my opinion.

Secondly, were you a bystander watching the event or were you judging?

If you were judging, it really is not very appropriate for you to come here and make that half assed apology.

Re: \"Quiet, I\'m putting\" aka Tiger Woods

Well well well

This is ugly.

Should go to the rule book on conduct of participants ...

... wasn't there a tennis player who used to do those sort of things?

Also, if the participant was somewhat frustrated at the time it may have the judges consensus on DQ over here especially if that were the outburst.

But in defence of the participant he may have been frustrated and reacted poorly without thought, he could also claim you were purposefully distracting him, maybe even engineering your timing to critical moments in time.

Also, I dont see many competitors wearing their hearing protection in the throwline event. Much like the tee shot at golf most people do stay silent at that point in time when the competitor is focused and readying his throw.

Like I said before ... this is ugly.

By the way, do the two of you normally get along or resent each other? There may be some baggage involved here too.

No bivy was not judging, and this other person(which will remain unnamed) has a track record of this type of behavior. i had some friends watching the comp in GA and this guy made a arse of himself there too. i was embarrased that my friends were there to see him act like that.

Re: \"Quiet, I\'m putting\" aka Tiger Woods

No i wasn't a judge. Everyone has had a throwline "Monday" but I sure don't take it out on everyone else. I posted this for others to learn from my mistake. Next comp I will ask the others in my group if they prefer quiet. Maybe I vented to much but the dude would not accept an apology and I would have washed this whole thing away in the Hospitality Room with a couple of cold ones, but the guy was so pissed he didn't win, he left without going to the awards ceremony. I have never even met the dude before! Look, the bottom line is that this is not the olympics and we are all here to have fun. Sometimes comp. brings out the best or worst in us. I learned lots of new tricks despite this wrinkle. No worries, no hard feelings and I will respect silence. If you end up in my group next year, i like the encouragement and BETA. Sho-lin' quote, "many things are better left unsaid, grasshopper". Did I mention TREE-athalon? On to bigger a better things, can we ban body thrusting?
