Question

TK and myself were just asked to do 2 45 minute presentations at TCI Expo in Columbus. If you are going, what would you like to see? We are under the gun here. Please give us some ideas. Thanks. /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The Aerial Rescue presentation you guys did w. guest Kevin Wily was great. It helps to visulaize a real life scenario when a paramedic gives you his (or her) perspective.

I liked your previous talk on crane rigging w/ th balancer. Maybe more on spvder legs or other types of rigging youve done besides the standard choked off sling.

Ummm.... Norm, sorry to lumber you with that. Chris Cowell and myself were supposed to be over for Treemagineers to do those two presentations on the demo tree.

Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip for a number of reasons. Talking for myself it's a long way to come for a short period of time and I've got some pressing family and health issues here at home that need to be taken care of. Not to mention the financial aspects of such a trip.

I hope we'll be able to share the contents of what we were going to show at the expo with folks in the US at a later point in time.

I know that you and Tod will do a great job at the show... again, sorry about the short notice.

How about work place ergonomics. You could cover things like proper positioning while making cuts while climbing or bucket operating. One of the things that I notice my younger colleagues doing is getting themselves in awkward , enrgy draining positions. As well as :using the proper tool for the job. I mean, maybe I am too much of a control freak on this but there is even a correct technique for running a rake in my world. Just a couple of thoughts.

It amazing how many groundies don't know how to efficiently operate a rake. /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

MB, you use a rake?!? My impression was you only did custom climbin'.

I like that! I want to change my operation and only do 'custom climbin'!
Seems like I always gotta do what is in front of me these days. I sure would like to pick and choose.

Now how to advertise and make money at it, hummm.

Maybe start by charging say, $165.00 for bids. That would weed out some of the clients

Do a talk on knotless rigging. The benefits of using such a system isn't being seen where I'm at that I'm aware. Bosses seem to be more concerned about lost gear than efficiency during removals.

Safety and "efficiency" during removals.

Mark B., I hope things are better. Sorry to hear of the health issues. My prayers are with you and yours.

Thanks Buzzers for all of your responses. This definitely gives us ideas to think about. See ya in Columbus. /forum/images/graemlins/icon14.gif
