Question for those who do the hiring.

[quoteTell me where/what in this thread, that I have said, gives you the idea I have a ego?

I read your earlier posts over again and I swear you were more arogant before.

It really seems like on around 9-16 or 9-17 you edited your previous posts and removed the edited caption. Which, we all can do.

Or.... me and a few others where all reading your posts more harsh then they were.

Either way it started, your not someone we would be interested in as an employee.

Plus, I'm pretty sure I'll always dislike you on treebuzz and will remember that.

on another note, I did notice the language thing was not *** out. I figured it must have just been the combination of words put together, but I guess not.

What words do you want asterisks in? I'll add any that you'd like to The List :)

None. I want the language filter back on. I thought I would like this new power, but I'm afraid we'll run amok. I'll go back to using whatever cute little wing dings and symbols I need to, but we're shitting in our own nest now.

Wait, I think I get the point now . . . you determine a list of words that automatically delete? Is that right?

Damn Druid, you too!!? I've grown used to working around the autocensor so WTF... turn it back on but leave some basics like sh_t
damn and a$$. Because dammit, some assholes are shitheads.

And what is world coming to when pretty blond chicks can out curse boys?

I've read the high points in this thread but not all of it. Reading spew brings me down.

I'm just gonna leave my answer for the question in th OP.

Unless you have lots of experience with technical climbing and have proven yourself safe at height even when $hit goes wrong, you belong on the ground... Where it is equally dangerous but not so much to others.

I've trained a few guys now and I can tell you I don't let anybody go up a tree with a saw unless I'm super confident they will follow instructions and adhere strictly to safe practices as I taught them. That's a year minimum on the ground with at least some rec climbing.

If you want to climb, get a job dragging brush and feeding a chipper. That shouldn't be difficult. You distinguish yourself as a potential apprentice by showing up on time EVERY day, working your axe off, and getting along with the crew... Which will require humility.
If you do that I can almost guarantee your interest in climbing will be recognized and honored because, like you say, groundies = many, climbers = few. A good climber is very valuable. Good climbers have paid their dues, they've seen firsthand how dangerous it is working around swinging and falling wood. If you dont know that firsthand you'll be a danger to the people on the ground.
Take a job as a ground. Prove you have the head and work ethic to do tree work. Accept criticism and think on it rather than reacting. Show that you're interested in being a real climber. You'll get your chance.

Just remember this isn't some lightweight labor job. It's an unusually athletic and dangerous discipline that requires as much or more professionalism as any job out there.
