Purchasing Ski Boots

The snow in Arizona is better than it has been in years.
Work has been slow so I have been bumming around snowbowl doing my best warren miller impersonation.
I noticed that alot of buzzers ski so I thought this would be a good place to come for advice on buying ski boots.

I dont want to spend a fortune but dont really want used boots. Any advice ?

Torture? You want torture? Go telemark! Half the binding, twice the fun is what Pete Donzellie would say.

I found that I fit Italian ski boots the best. My foot fits the last that they use for sizing.

The only place that I might suggest for deals is Sierra Trading Post. Any ski shop would have last years new boots that should go pretty cheap.

If you can find a set of used boots in good shape you can pick yourself up a new set of liners. Garmont makes a g-fit liner that is heat moldable for a custom fit. Other than that looking for last years models is your next best bet.

Most brands will fit a little different. Salomons tend to fit large-volume feet better while Technicas fit a little smaller. I found Rossignols to fit just right, somewhere in the middle.

It's a good idea to try and fit boots on sale online, but deffinitely try to try on a pair before you buy. Go to the local shop, find the ones you like then look online.

Stick to the skis, snowboarders are punks!
