Pulling the plug on blue spruce?

There is a good book called Trees of Ohio or something like that. Shows every species as well as every county they are found in
No I don't have room but next property it will be a necessity with no exceptions! Along with a mature tree to practice climbing in. This book?

Honestly I don’t think I’ve opened that book since the Hocking days, just Found it dusty andburied in the basement. I was just trying to think if there are any other Ohio native evergreens that would make a good privacy screen. I do miss some of the privacy screen shrubs and trees we could grow in Tennessee mtns. Not all natives but skip Laurel, pragense viburnum, holly, mahonia, rhodos, Azalea and cryptomeria Were pretty awesome down there. The skip Laurel were loaded with pollinators.

Plenty of large viburnum grow here and some are semi-evergreen as well
Have you guys found a specific variety of viburnum that works best as a large privacy screen / semievergreen? I see them around but have not pinned down the best varieties. Pragense was great in TN but I think they are marginal with our winters.

Burkwood, juddii, and Mohawk come to mind, x rhytidophyloides too.

I have a hedge of carlesii at home that's about 12' tall that I informally hedge
