precision falling

Tree Falling: a maple spar in a fairly tight drop zone between a house and the neighbor's driveway. This 1 minute video was shot by the customer on his phone.. The background conversation is between the customer and the neighbors.

I was originally planning on making the cut from the ground, but didn't like the bend in the spar, which could have caused the tree to bounce and roll after impact. So I decided to make the cut at about 10' height from the bucket. It takes a good deal of confidence to make these types of cuts when there is so much valuable property at risk.

If you listen closely at the very end, you can hear the customer say "I need to take my medication"..

I liked that too Jimmy.

Good felling job Daniel, nice parallel drop adjacent to the driveway.

Any Idea of the weight/force hitting?
Hit tip top heavy.
MB 10 000lbs of force so close to the house?
A Cranes outriggier isn't allowed that close to a home?
No foundation or pad, no issues.

Just curious is all.

I could barely hear that over the squeaky tracks of the skidsteer. Well done, Daniel. You put that big log onto the ground with no drama, and with only a little bit of yanking with a machine (force applied: unkown). It would appear that you had your best driver on the scene, which was a good choice considering your client has a weak heart.

How close to a house? I have a clint that wants all his trees cut down with a crane, becasue he is concerned about the impact damaging the foundation... even the ones well away from the house.. seems silly to me....
