Actually, when using it a lot, reholstering it takes too much time.
I hang the saw, blade exposed, from a sling, so that it is below me.....or sometimes sling it to a branch. Either way, just need to be aware that it's sharp and can nick a climb line.
They've finally done away with that hole. Its original purpose was as a holder for a paint brush, back when painting shiners was de rigeur. Best to drill a small hole of the hook side, and use a mini-biner. This keeps the rope away from the blade better than hanging from that hole, which is on the blade side.
