Pinto w/ RW tether?

I saw one last week at in the showroom at tree stuff. Looks like a nice compact deal. Streamlines thingsat the hitch/saddle connection point.

I have been using this for a minute,I like it.

I don't have a picture of it, Maybe Nick can post one up. They have a variety of sets in the showroom area of all kinds of different configurations. I'm glad I stopped by to visit them.

So for an update I did buy one of these. So far I am liking it quite well, I am stoked to be free of the mechanical "crack" and still have easy changeovers in the tree. The only thing is, it is taking me a minute to get the muscle memory down to completely disengage the wrench in the "backwards" orientation, no big deal though.

I usually run the pinto w itj rw. One I always hated was taking it off aloft and having it crumble in my hands..then having to figure where to hold what .. Wrench stays put hitch didn't move..biners in my hand ,but that gosh darn pinto would try to jump out of my grasp..problem solved there looks like. I am used to wrench facing the other way ..I'd get over that.. How is it taking up slack?. Hand under pulley style looks like I would rub the bottom of splice on pinto becket, when lifting up. Not a huge deal. Just looks like it could rub like in 3:1 mode .. How does it feel? Any different or not noticeable to you,?

Not any noticeable difference in descent, tethering for ascent is a bit awkward, the best I've found is the becket which turns the system around so it's a bit odd but no biggie really. I have not had the chance or need to use it in 3:1 yet but I'm guessing it's fine. I need to switch to a different knot with less sit-back and I think it will be golden. I am pretty excited about this setup though, if you leave your biner on the bridge you only have 2 pieces to manage in a switch over...
What knot are you using? Not a wrench guy yet just prowling. But I am always jonesing for a knot with little to no set back.

X2 on Mike's statement. I was a diehard vt guy until I started using 11mm climbing lines. Now I use the mich exclusively. I retired my imori, which was the rope that the vt worked best on.

This pinto/wrench idea is piquing my interest...

Ok I have tied the mich many times just find the legs are too long with my 28" e2e. Can someone post a picture of the method they are tying.

Will try to remember tomorrow. I've used both arbpro and sterling 9mm 30" cords with little trouble. Long ascents will of course need setting before sitting back. And after the vt for a few years, I often set my hitch whenever I move.

I've been toying with this gotta run a wrench over it on a climb line yet ,but have been using it on another lanyard setup I use from time to time and I love it. It's a michocan with long leg from double fisherman's termination wrapped back through. I'm gonna climb on it soon, with a pinto and RW..lol. It's 9.3mm epi cord on that celanyard cord think its 11mm. What do you think ? I typically use sewn eyes but thought this was cool

I just ordered that stiffy pinto set up and am very excited to try it out. It was a hard pick between the oceans tether and the pinto tether.
