Pine Tree Rigging over house

Nice work, how big was that pine ??

Later in SO Cal ....

New show on tv last night on a lumberjack crew up in Canada removing large trees w/ hilo choppers, did any one see that show ?

Did the client see you swinging around in that tree for fun?

Cool video. I will bookmark it and show it to my firstborn when he or she is old enough to comprehend what is going on in the video.

Husky won by the way.

Ya, you had a new chain and a far superior saw.
I had more horspower but the chain was 1/2 way down to the guide line and the rakers were taken down with an angle grinder while I was 1/2 asleep.
next time my friend....next time

I think it was about 65 feet tall
Not sure about the DBH but I measured 4 feet across where I made my final cut. The root flare was much more. Horrible stump to grind today.

Nice job!!! Still liking that 192??

Its no 200t but is very well suited for a girly man like myself. I really struggled with the big saw on this job. I think I will attach the bigun to the tree from now on. The tree motion SUCKS for hanging a big saw on.

Nice vid.

Not picking but have a question...why don't you just make the cuts right next to the trunk, instead of going back and having to flush off a stub by hand?

Pick away.

That is why I put these silly things on here.
To get free lessons from all you buzzers.

My laziness in not positioning myself to make flush cuts was dumb. Thouogh the stubs were never really in the way, they were directly over the house so when I did cut them, it meant one handing the saw....wasting more time and energy.
I cursed myself for too.
There were a few other no no's but I will keep them to myself unless noticed by others.

Nice video, Jesse. And good work!

Coupla things....you might like the substantial speed increase in that 192T if you would port the muffler. all it takes is a dremel.....easy 20-25% faster.

And....do you speedline often? That site looked to be a perfect setup. The tree would have been plenty strong to handle the side loading, and the effort is a bit less all around. It's always fun, sometimes a lot faster, but not always.

What size lowering line was that? It looked larger than 1/2", which is my go to line for light stuff like that.

Which helmet cam do you have?

very cool video....I got one question....when you tied 3 to 4 limbs all together was the bottom one a running bowline and the ones above it a clove hitch? Just curious.

Oh and be careful with that one handed stuff

I'm seeing more and more knot less rigging. What type of biner where you using? Also what type of knot do you attacked the biner to the line with?
