I was there too. I was the foreman responsible for clearing the Lexington Cemetery. Good times, good times.

My wife was 8 months pregnant, I was waking up at 4am to drive the trucks to Lexington (pick up some guys in Shelbyville), work 'til 7pm, get home at 9 or 10 pm. Go to bed and do it again.

Remember that very well. Quite a few went down here. I remember staying home one day and across the street came this tree crew. They hit the neighbors car, screwed our mechanic of hundreds of dollars(can't remember how much, but enough to issuse a lookout and to arrest them if seen). Our neighbor got ahold of them, and in the end, they did more harm to the tree than good. Came in with a bucket. Based out of Minn. I guess, but no one get ever get in touch with them.

A bucket you say? Not climbers then huh? No good bucket operators.

Climbing isn't all fun and games though. This is what happens when guys over 40 climb trees... "Oxygen!"

Generally I'm against topping trees, but this one we did a couple years ago turned out looking real good.

That could be nurtured into an interesting pollard head don't you think?

If we had used some "coronet cuts" that tree would be 700 years old by now.

Sometimes I guess you just have to get out of the bucket.

Nice pics Ky. Sawyer.

I do remember the Lexington cemetery being closed for quite a while. What a mess.
