Wildcard teams have won 3 WS since 2002, and frontrunning division leaders do not have a good recent history in the playoffs. That means that Philly, the Wankees, Cards and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim should not gloat just yet. Here's an interesting article:

Really, anybody but the Yankees is cool, but I'm obviously pulling for my Sawx. I guess I'm a little complacent with all the championships around here lately.

It's too bad that Minnesota and Detroit are killing each other for the Central spot. Whoever wins is gonna be spent when they face the Most Expensive Team In The History Of Baseball.

PS - The Red Sox are 4th in MLB payroll, not 2nd (in case anyone was about to clamor about that). The defecit between the Yankees and Sox is larger than the average team payroll in MLB.
 
yeah well #1 no one from Philly has a right to gloat yet....remember we had like 127 combined losing seasons until the Phils won last year. so we got a way to go before we can beat our chests.........maybe a superbowl win would help?!! Also it doesnt matter who the best team is .....winning a championship in any sport usually requires some breaks to go your way as well as being good!

Bull. That's why I can't stand Boston anymore. They went from "poor us, we haven't won anything in forever but it's cool, were working class folk who hate new york" which was awesome and I loved you guys.

You skipped a bunch of vital info that would have helped you make a more informed post. The Mets and Cubs are 2 and 3. Here's the top of the heap FYI:

Sadly I think he died not too long ago. I remember watching TLC and he sure looked like a primordial midget that don't live long. Oh well we do have Pedro.
