Ph and NUTRIENT testing

I was wondering if any one here dose soil testing themselves or sends soil samples to labs? I'm assuming the nursery bought kits are not accurate enough for professional use. If you do testing yourself can you recommend a testing kit.

Forestry suppliers has a couple of good kits available. Look out though, it is pretty time consuming and some of the reagents are pretty nasty.

Sending them out usually runs around $100 and worth it IMO.

Just curious, how did you all learn to read and interpret the results from the pH/nutrient tests? And how did you learn what products to recommend based on your interpretation? Is there a good book or resource I could read that would teach me this skill?
