Petzl's rebuttal to the Kask

Re: Petzl\'s rebuttal to the Kask

I havent had any issues with my kask and wear it with ear muffs and visor. To me it's miles ahead in comfort to any petzl helmet. The vertex would give me splitting headaches, we'll see if they fixed those issues.

Re: Petzl\'s rebuttal to the Kask

WARNING: Plasma Work does not meet requirements of the CE EN 397 and ANSI Z89.1-2009 standards regarding electrical insulation. Plasma Work is Type I Class C helmet based on ANSI Z89.1-2009 classification. (NOTE: A helmet of Type I is designed to provide crown (top) impact protection. It is not intended to provide protection from lateral (side) impacts. Class C stands for Conductive and this class is not intended to provide protection from electrical conductors, and are not tested for electrical resistance).

I understand it not being electrical safe, but the lateral-thing bothers me...

Re: Petzl\'s rebuttal to the Kask

CE EN 12492: meets the requirements of the EN 397 and EN 12492 standards for protection against impact. Meets the optional requirements of the EN 397 standard for lateral deformation and use in low temperatures.

This is from the Alveo and the new vertex...I loved the way my kask fit too, but I ended up donating it to an auction on an arby site

Re: Petzl\'s rebuttal to the Kask

I can't decide, but I will probably get the new vertex, better fit and lower profile than my current one, plus i like being able to close the vents if need be .

Re: Petzl\'s rebuttal to the Kask

Good for Petzl.

I guess after selling a bizillion Vertex helmets they decided to create a second series of helmets that are ANSI rated.

Very smart.

Also, it looks like the Vertex ST is the industrial helmet that I've seen on European websites for awhile. This is a version for non-work-at-height applications?

Am I seriously seeing the Vertex in blue? Sweet.
