Petzl \'Vertex\' Vented
I got this helmet the other day.
what I first noticed about it was the strapping system for holding the bucket to your head. The attachment points seem kinda weak. They are plastic clips without too much meat in them.
But I guess they all work in tandem to give enough protection for most impacts.
Another point I noticed it how high it sets on my head. No adjustment for bringing it lower on your skull. I think maybe it sits so high because it increases the distance from the top of your cranium to the inner shell of the helmet. Sooo thus increasing the safety margin prehaps?
But still goofy as all get out.
What I did was resew the clip-in points on the webbing and thus brought the helmet closer to my skull.
Therby violating each and every safety rule and guideline for proper useage ever created.
The helmet still sits about an inch from the top of the webbing to the underside of the helmet which is the same distance that the Petzl 'best' rides at, so I am not that concerned.
Here in CA. it is already in the 70f. so this vented helmet will be great when it starts to really heat up!
