That block is designed for wire rope, not synthetic, arborist, rigging lines. Not saying that it won't work, just that your rope may flatten out and get pinched more than it would with a proper sized block for your application.That is what I’m thinking. We used some ole Garlats (spelling?). Big enough to pass a sheetbend in 9/16.. just hoping for a middle ground
Splice the girth in. With a wire fid it could reliably take one minute.Girth hitching would require passing the whole length through the eye, that would be farther down on my preferences! Another option is an eye on one end and take the other end and tie to the next eye with a sheet bend, double sheet bend type hitch.
That doesn't seem prohibitive if it will be used for this job occasionally for many years. Write in half of the cost to the bid.True, but at $1000.00 bucks a block might be cost prohibitive. Right tool for the job? Absolutely.
