I was afraid of pinching happening.
I thought it was best to stay away from the load related hardware.
If I was tied in there, I bet my loop runners or friction saver or climbing lines could pop into the orange hook by mistake too; since they would be dangling right next to the hook... ? maybe?
I guess if worried about pinching in the big clevis, I could put another clevis in that clevis. Too many pins that could come out for me though...
Here is the setup my brother uses on his stick crane.
I guess it's okay to clip a biner into friction saver rings?
this is how they do it and it looked good to me, this is how it did it on that big beech removal i posted some pictures about
