A tree climbing we will go.
Well today was one of my 5 days off and I had promised myself that I would take it easy. But after about 2 hours of being in the house this morning, I just had to get out. So I decided to take a trip on up to Washingtons Crossing.
I checked out both the NJ and PA side to find a desirable tree but couldn't find really anything that I like so I settled for a pair of poplars that where growing right next to each other just 30 feet from the river.
It was a pretty nice climb with a good view. I relazed up at the top and took some pictures and pondered the idea of hiking up the mountain in NJ and climb one of the trees at the top. Well my stomach got the better of me so I had to go find some food. And then by the time I got back to my truck it had already started raining.
Now back on the NJ side I traveled on over to the Trap Rock quarry. There was a really big mountain (for this area), that I wanted to get to the top of. Well after spending an hour driving all over I was able to find a gravel road that lead to the top of the hill. I couldn't believe it. I hopped out of my truck in the middle of the field and snapped 3 pics. then went to find a good tree.
Still raining now I knew that I just had to find a tree and get on up to really get a good idea of how high up. I walked on over to the edge of the mountain butg I found only smaller trees and lots of sticker bushes. I located a tree higher then the rest on the edge and decided to give it a go. I had learned the hard way that trying to throw a throwball in sticker bushes is almost impossible. After about an hour of lots of cursing I was finally able to get a line set.
The wait to enter the tree was well worth the reward for the views that I had. I saw this boat in the water that looked no more then a ant on the ground. It was such a soothing and relaxing time, even after the struggle to get up.

If anyone ever comes around the area and would like to go check this area out, please let me know. I definitly plain on going back and hopefully find some really nice trees when the weather is better.
