oregon hardened chain

im not sure the name of the chain but i have just bought a 15inch loop of a new oregon chain from my local supplier. i got a good price on it as im the first person to try it and so a bit of a guinea pig so to speak.
its supposedly got 3 times the ammount of chrome on the teeth to make it more durable.
i stuck it on my firewood processor and so far have cut around 6 ton of clean wood. i'll let you all know if i think its worth the extra money. i think its about 60% extra cost to a normal chain.
anyway else tried this?

Have you tried the stihl rapid duro special chain - tungsten carbide/cobalt teeth?

Supposedly cuts through almost anything, would be great for winching out stumps, one long plunge cut round it and yank it out!

Would also make short work of underground cables and pipes....

i looked into the carbide chain......unfortunately what lets it down is the links are standard which means they are worn long before the teeth are.

Mark, we use the carbide chain for root pruning in construction projects to protect the roots from being pulled apart by backhoe/bobcat, etc. They work well in the scenario. We purchased at .063 gauge bar and we replace the sprocket and needle cage after each use. Soil really tears the drive system up. One saw is deemed for this purpose. No sense in tearing them all up!
