opinions on the 660?

395xp or if your looking for smaller than that 372xp is a solid saw, we usually go with that over our 660 most of the time and it gets us through. They are all good saws, I'm a bit partial to husky though.

If you have a 3120 I think your middle saw should be a 70cc preferably a 372.But if your dead set on a 90+cc saw go with a 390xp.My current lineup is 2 200t's and an 044.But my ultimate lineup is 2 200t's, 2 372's and a 3120.I like to have 2 backups.

i already have a 70cc saw stihl ms460 with a 28 inch bar.

im trying to build a saw range according to bar length

so far its
echo 330T 14"
echo 360T 16"
husqy 435 16"
stihl 390 20"
stihl 460 28"
husqy 3120 42"

id like to have a saw between the 3120 and the 460. it goes from 70cc's to 120cc.

I agree, It is better to have fewer saws and just switch out the bar and chains. The more frequently you use a saw the less mechanical problems will occur.

get the stihl my friend has one and its better than the huskys (372xp 71 cc) that we use at work.... he just found a poplar tree last week that was 12FT a-round DBH and the 660 took good care of it....
im not dog'in husky cause that is what i own, but im just saying his saw is kick a$$....

Personally I would buy a 200 and phase out the echo tree saws. How often are you going to pull a 660 up the tree and cut at chest height? I use a 200 for 98% of my cuts and when it gets into big wood I'll pull out the 460. It's lighter and it has the power to push a bigger bar.
I live in BC and I use a 660 or 880 aloft very rarely. At the most 2-3 times a year. For me it's easier and less fatiguing to use a smaller saw. (On the ground and in the tree)

Bruddah josh-
I've had to roll with the 660 a few times on my saddle and am always hurting afterwards. Im six feet, but only 155, so thats a factor... I can't really see the need for a 42" bar in the tree, except on rare occasions... 362 with 24" bar or 460 with 28/32" bar and you should be cherry. I really on use the 660 for bucking big wood on the ground.
