Homeowner had a few pines come down in the wind recently. Hired us to come in and drop a number of trees of concern and leave them. Old stand of white pine (Pinus strobus) in central MA. The three trees you can see in the domino were over 100' which is tall for our location. Dropped another in the back measured to 120'. Only 18" in diameter. Presence of Porodaedalea conks/red ring rot in the stand dating it over 100 years old. Pretty neat. A 44" dBH was dropped in the back. Pretty big for our area. Lots of wedge pounding that day. The two trees I dropped the one into had back leans from desired drop zone. Tried to drop them in a way that would leave his property looking as little like shit as possible. Nothing too special, they were perfectly in line with each other and the one I dropped into the others required just a few taps on the wedge. There were three other smaller trees involved in the domino that were much shorter/not really visible in the video. Used properly, a big energy saver. Improperly applied, your worse nightmare.....
