Last weekend a small group of us climbed a tiny, little toothpick Doug. fir. It was about 220ft tall and about 5.5 ft DBH. We all had a great time! Check out some of the pics. You might see a familiar face or two.
On the way down Kathy was sure glad she tied a stopper knot in her 200ft long blue streak. She said she usually just grabs the end with her mouth when she starts getting close, as she is demonstrating in the photo. Even at 100ft from the top she was a few feet short of reaching the access line.
Great tree...awesome climb. Here's a shot of a 200 ft. fly that was going to be the access line. As you can see, it ended up a bit short, so we replaced it with Tom's 300 ft. static line.
