Old saws that haven't been junked

Re: Old saws that haven\'t been junked

Ha ha! I know where the 'muffler' is located but they might just as well not have one in my experience. I never knew how loud those saws were until I used one 20 years later and compared it to my new saws...can you say 'What???"

You are right. This is one loud saw. I would like to use it to process my firewood but no brake, wish there was a mod of some sort.

[/ QUOTE ] Ha,all my saws are old.The newest one is 1990 the oldest early 50's. Most of them run and others used to at one time.

As far as loud, ear plugs work as good for 40 year old Macs as they do for new Stihl's,ha.

One of my coe-students has a saw that is essentially an engine with a bar to hold on to and a chain on it. No chain break, the chain gear isn't even covered. Was bought slightly after WWII if I remember correctly by his grandpa. The saw has never had gas or oil in it, still has all stickers, is in perfect condition. Unbeliveable. I'll try and get a pic of it from him to post.

[/ QUOTE ] ever get a chance to get a look at this saw??? and a pic????
