Lets not disparage the accomplishment. Anyone who wins a Nobel prize had to at least impress the judges.

Now, there is not a single judge of anything whose judgment won't be questioned by a segment of the populace. And in this case that segment may be particularly, perhaps justifiably, large.

Hey Marrietta College was very happy to say that one of thier alums, a former VP won the Noble prize a few years ago. (btw that is how the school spelled it)

so, look at the evidence and you be the judge...

Besides, didn't Nobel invent dynamite?

does any one think its possible that the VERY PROGRESSIVE judges awarded him the "peace" prize to influence his policy in Afghanistan?? Remember 9/11 people??!! remember the barbaric attacks?! and dont anyone have the spineless audacity to blame this country.Do you remember where you were? what you felt? My brother's train went through the station at the world trade centers.THis President ran his campaign saying that this was the war that
matered,not Iraq.While he stalls to satisfy his left wing progressive base and makes politics out of this situation our best and brightest ,(who volunteered to be on the wall for you and I and our families)are at greater risk because he will not give the generals what they feel they need to win ...........where the Taliban actually are?! Now , How can the "MAN OF PEACE" finish the job???!! If he had any class or GOD forbid humility HA! he would have declined the award,he is WAY TOO narcasisstic to do that! He loves himself and wallows in the attention......he makes me wanna puke!!

He did peacefully settle the dispute over racism in Cambridge, MA. A racist professor was arrested by the head of the race relations task force, and Hussein had a beer with them, they hsook, hands and peace was passed.




What did he accomplish TEN business days into his presidency that made the committee decide he should win!!!?????

With people like Yasser Arafat, and Bone head Bono winning the nobel peace prize it now has as much gravitas as Brittany Spears winning the teen choice awards. And if Good ole Al Gore can win it there is still hope for me, and what have I done, not much just workin hard and raising a family
 
I think unless you have lived or traveled abroad during the last administration's 8 yrs and then traveled since Obama was elected it's hard to see how the rest of the world's view of the USA has changed (for the better). The past 8 yrs pretty much negated the US's goodwill in the world. The Nobel Peace Prize is not about what we US'ers think about our President - it's more a world baramoter sort of thing ;) And this could translate into a safer more peaceful world for us all...
