Oak wood with a crane

You look very relaxed and well organized Gord. Good to see the crane-op kept the pieces moving away from you, especially that last one.

Very nice, at the start of the vid it looked like you were tied into the piece you were cutting. I was yelling "Noooooo". That was a big oak, lots of nice lumber.
Thanks.

Pat.

Smooth picks. Nicely done job. One thing: get that camera on a tripod and have the camera man spare us all the zooming. Other than that minor detail,, the job was performed as well as it could. !!!

Ha! I did the same thing...I was watching thinking "What am I doing?"

Yeah, that got me too. The one spar blended right in. If the sun was on the tree it would have been much different.

You must have brushed it out befor the crane arrived. Hey?

You're right Gerald. The only spot for a crane to sit was in the parking lot next door and they weren't very easygoing about it, so I brushed it out (about 11 hours total) then got the crane in on a sunday afternoon. The tree had a long split in the main union so the rigging was slow and small.

I'll let my camerawoman (better half) know that she's being given some advice from a pro.

we'll see...
