Hey ya'll.. Long story, but I will spare you the details. When my dad died I inherited his 045 electric PRO 5. I stripped it down after he died to clean it up, had no clue what I was doing and broke the piston skirt. This was nearly 20 years ago. I've had the saw in baggies and a few different boxes. Fast forward a to now, my son took interest when I was cleaning up my saws, and doing some minor repairs. We are wanting to take on rebuilding Grandpa's old saw to working condition. I think I've managed to find all the screws and bits that I've lost over the years on EBAY.
However I want to upgrade the saw to have a functioning chain brake. It's my understanding that these were optional at the time, and they were quickly disabled or tossed aside. I found a side cover, and the lever arm to the hand guard. What I am now looking for is all the little bits, springs, plastic inner cover, band, etc.
Anyone have a dusty ol' saw on sitting around?
PS The 045's came with three different cylinders 50mm, 52mm, and 54mm.. Mine is a 52mm but if anyone also has a 54mm or a 056's 56mm piston and jug I'd love to pep it up a little too!

Let me take a look , I have a few of those saws around
that would be sweet! I got a 50mm parts 045 on the way. Turns out that I am still missing the cylinder head screws. It does have a chain brake, but dont know what shape it's in.

My son in law just sent my a photo of an 056av in pristine condition. Amish shop has it on their.used shelf.

Keeping those little hands busy.. I swear kids make the best saw mechanics they can reach into all those annoying little places!
