Noise on my twin disc clutch

Mine got noisey and it turned out all the teeth were gone off 1 of the fibre disks. What engine you have? The pilot bearings are known for wobbing out the flywheels on the deers causing alignment issues. Foley engines in worster mass has everything you need in stock way cheaper than dealership. And will overnight it right out. If its noisey something is worn or busted

Mine too. All the teeth were gone and the fiber was broke in 3 pieces. I have no clue how the thing would still engage. I had kind of a deep slow rattle before I fixed it. About $530 and 5 hours to change it out myself.... And I had no clue what I was doing .

You can see the lock pin bottom center of the last photo. Pull out (may have to use a small cotter pin to hood out). Use a long punch on the base of the arms to tap the clutch clockwise I believe. Make sure the lock pin re engages. Easy peezy

It's probably the pilot bearing. I bought a new one from foley and my mechanic is gonna change it out. They are only supposed to last 3k hours and my chipper has just over 3 k hours on it.

Possible prevention of damage on those disks in the future? The Bandit dealer near me says to engage clutch with 10 small bumps bringing chipper knives/head to idle speed with minimal heat and wear to disks.

Improper engagement can overheat even a new clutches disks and require replacement in just a short time.

I was always taught to bump them, not slip them, into engagement. Can't say I do 10, but 4 or 5 bumps and she'll engage smoothly/easily.
