NJ rec climb

hello all, i am currently setting up a rec climb here in south jersey and am opening the doors to all those who would like to attend. i am currently looking for some nice trees to climb that would house quite a few people, probably going to need more than one if the turnout becomes too full. as of now i have about 5 guys coming, all ranging in experience levels. right now i have a monster white oak picked out but i fear it may abit too upright, ill have to double check the tree to see if it can handle that many people. i am more than willing to hear other options.

this will be a good time to try different gear out, i will have my treeflex and treemotion on hand, also i will have my poison ivy line and tachiyon lines out for others to try as well.

i know this area, i know what kind of climbers we have out there, some are current, some are not, this is the time to find out and learn about each other and there climbing styles. i will also be demonstrating srt for those who are interested. this is going to be as open as it gets, if you have a question, ask it, if you want to try something new, do it, if you want to learn something, then come on out.

pm me or post here if interested, or call me at 856-834-6619, if i dont answer leave a message and ill get back to ya, just make sure to let me know your real name and treebuzz name so i dont think some crazy customer just called me to learn how to climb

looks like the 3rd week of November on a Saturday. So far I've gotten a few bites from a couple of local companys and a few interested here on the buzz. Looked at the oak today, it's a giant but it will be a bit tight for more than 3 climbers. Ideally I would like to find at least 2-3 decent sized trees near one another. There is a park near by but I'll have to check with local government about climbing the trees. I've been in trouble before doing it. I'll keep y'all updated.

So whats the low down on this NJ rec climb who's gona show. I know a seem the bung hole but would be nice to meet and greet. I really am a nice guy in real life

hey ed, you've been climbing these parts much longer than myself, any ideas on where to climb? I checked out the white oak I was talking about and it's way too tight (by far the biggest white oak I've ever seen in my life btw). I do have another nice, sprawling oak in mind, I dropped a line to the home owners, there might be a waiver to sign to help protect the home owners but nothing to crazy.

Any ideas on better spots ed? Paul? Mark?

Hmmm Not too many big ones left in camden to climb, Thats right I cut them all down Bahhahahahahaah

There used to be this huge spread oak at the state prison hospital in trenton, not sure it's still there, been about 8-9 years since I worked there. It's across from the trenton golf course. Oak was right in the main entrance been there since before the civil war.

im hoping to get some numbers as far as participants go for the rec climb, the nice part about my current location is that there is a park one house down from the large oak so there will be other trees to climb as well, i am currently working on getting the camden county parks permission to climb them.

I got the approval from the home owners today to use there tree for our rec. Climb, I just need a head count so I can print waivers. A lawyer friend of mine is typing something up for me as we speak. I have 4 potential climbers coming with me all from different companies around my area. Most are not current so I'm going to do my best to help teach them asscent methods (foot lock, srt and rads) and i'm trying to get as many gadgets and toys together to show there uses. It's kinda like the Sherrill/Vermeer shows but you actually get to gear up and give it a go.

If you are interested please let me know asap. It's going to be the third Saturday of november and should be a blast. If you have any new gear, ropes or saddles to bring and show please feel free. I will have all of my gear there for you to use and abuse, just make sure to keep enough life in my lines and gear so I can climb come Monday. Also feel free to bring your handsaws. This is going to be a complete gear overhaul.

I was not able to get the thumbs up to climb in the park but I'm doing it anyway. I'm going to try to show up a day or two early to set some lines and hopefully set up a nice back nine of throwline golf. I will be providing food ( only a couple of pizzas) and some sodas for lunch so I suggest y'all pack up some waters. Hope to see ya guys there. Pm me for more info. And please leave any egos you may have at home. I won't tolerate it.

okay folks here's the scoop, the crew I was going to train that day decided to bring me in on a removal for more of a hands on approach to rigging scenarios. That being said, I am still willing to do the climb with my fellow buzzers, BUT, I just recently put in a bid for a lot removal job in upstate new york (is Yonkers considered upstate?) and if I am fortunate enough to get the job it starts the same week the work climb is set for. I should know if I got the job come tomorrow night, or possibly tonight if I nag. I'll keep y'all in the loop and up to date. Worst case scenario, I make a little extra scratch, I buy more goodies and reschedule the climb. Sorry to leave y'all in suspense, but with Christmas coming I could use the extra cash

hey guys, I know this is coming a bit later that expected but I just got off the phone with the contractor and I have been awarded the lot clearing job in ny so I have to post pone the rec climb for now. I'm hoping to finish the job in one weekend so I'm hoping to reschedule for December. Sorry to leave you in the dark for so long but the contractor just got back to me about 5 mins. Ago
