Yes, ANSI compliant, and they were in the process of getting CE certified, to make it sellable in Europe, too. His father was the guy who invented Kool Stop brake pads for bicycles back in the late 1970s, and has quite the nice production facility. Mine was an early-adopter shop that carried KoolStop pads on the East Coast.
I got the Lineboss at a good discount as I was/am spending time around Recreational Climbers and showed it at climbing rendezvous.
They made a beautiful product; not a bad thing about it other than the weight. Any of you who know the quality of Campagnolo bicycle components will have an idea of the fit and finish of the LineBoss... top-notch.
The owners manual/safety information that came with it was full of typos and partial sentences. I was on my back on the sofa after surgery, mostly in a fog, and 're-wrote' the whole thing, and FAXed it back to them. That was the last exchange I had with them.
It takes a lot of money, time, and perseverance to market a product (ask Paul Cox of Ropetek-Wraptor-HitchHiker fame) and you have to eat during the ramp-up period...
I'd hazard to guess a lot of self-made, creative products never see the light of day due to financial limitations.
I may have to invest in a GoPro or Contour and do a video or two of the LineBoss.
