Newly Designed Line Boss!

I really don't know Jamin. The only two things I got are the both receipts from Pay-Pal and Visa. Nothing from Lineboss.

My girlfriend owns an internet shop for Birdfeeders and when she gets an order there is an automated message send to the customer when they can expect the delivery.

I have 'payed the pay' on June 22. Since than nothing but radio silence out of the Lineboss company.
Has anybody been in contact with this company or is it time for me to contact Visa to get the payment back.

[/ QUOTE ]. I never did get a response from the E-mail I sent them. That tells me a lot about the folks at Lineboss, and to think I was about order one, glad I didn't...

[/ QUOTE ]. Hey Wolter, I just got through to them by phone. They said I could get a Lineboss in about a week. The guy said he never got my E-mail. You want me to check on your order? Send me a PM if you do.

I've known Thane, the VP, for years. I first saw the LB at the 2007 ISA Honolulu conference. I found kinda finicky. Maybe the redesigned unit is better. I'll give him a call, and see if they'll send me a unit in trade for marketing photos.....

I agree, I wouldn't pay $425 for one. It is more streamlined than the Uni, but only works for DbRT.

I saw the old unit years ago, then in the latest Baltimore TCIA show, they demonstrated the latest version. Wow! What an improvement I think. The climber can pull himself up the rope very easily with this new unit. I was very impressed. I just haven't gotten around to buying one.

the only drawback I saw; I wonder if I would bust out my front teeth with that metal thing on something like a nasty Pin Oak trimming....

Treespotter - Sorry for the delay! We were out for a few weeks. We did receive your order and I emailed you yesterday.

The handle isn't optional. It is standard. The use of the governor screw is. The governor can be screwed into any of the three holes to control the maximum speed the user may descend at.

Jim - I never received your email, but it turns out a few have been hitting the "junk" box, for some reason. I’ll double check the junk box. We accept returns if the product is defective out of the box.

If you have more questions, feel free to email me directly emily@lineboss.com

The Lineboss can advance well in SRT. Soon we will post video, which will show you how. Thank you for recognizing our willingness to change and improve. Feedback from you guys has been integral to making the improvements that we have made to the product!

We dont use friction savers during crane work, and Grigris didnt respond well when we tried them. Weve tried everything, and keep coming back to hitch cord. The Lineboss is worth a shot.

Descending is really easy with the Lineboss. Just turn the handle! The farther you turn it, the faster you go. There is an optional governor screw that can control the max speed of decent.

Hé Emily,

Thanks for clearing the questions here.
Just before I opened Treebuzz and read your posts here I have read your mail and replied to it.
I hope the shipping can be done because I really want to go for a ride with the little gem.

If they can't do the shipping, you can have them send it to me and I'll ship it to you. I don't know what the holdup is, but I know some companies occasionally have troubles shipping over seas. I've been able to help a few international tree guys by shipping for them and I'm glad to do the same for you.

Let me know.

love
nick

Tom - Yes, it descends in SRT mode and you'll be the first to know when we have the vids up!

You all have fun at ISA - we can't make it this year :(

No Lineboss for me Nick.
For some strange reason I had to pay an additional $72.00 over the $10.00 shipping payment I already did. That's $82.00 for a postal package that would normally be $11.00 and within two days on my doorstep from the US.
After pointing out to the company that Lineboss didn't mention a US only shipping on their website and that we had an financial agreement I was expecting that the company was going to ship the product to me for the price I had payed.
I told the company they where to do what they thought was best in their opinion. And in their opinion that was informing Pay-Pal to do a full refund and not ship the product.
The only thing I can say about that is that it's not my loss.

So, I guess maybe they priced themselves right out of the market?
The website is gone...
I may have the dubious distinction of getting the first production Lineboss, and still using it (occasionally). I never got any safety-concern notices or other indications that there were issues with it. It is heavy, but works well for newbie recreational climbers.
Maybe a collector would want it some day...

RIP Lineboss...

So pigwot- you actually received and have used the line boss? It seems strange for an inventive company to go through all the processes to get ANSI certified, start shipping the first few models - and then fall off the earth. Does anyone know what happened that they stopped production/ shut down their website?
