I am on a PI quest now. Is that eye starting to herniate at the sharp bend? It appears as though it is.

[/ QUOTE ]
It sure did. That splice always seemed too tight too.
Should I stop climbing on it?

This tree was freaking huge!
I have always loved and wanted to climb it.
My drive down Northern Avenue will never be the same.
I have no idea why they decided to take it down.
Its very very sad.

great job, picks got better and better as the job went along; first time you used spider legs on a crane, great job!

spiders definitely helped on some of those spreading large ones.

don't know how you edited it so fast, making me look like a winer.

Nice job, Jesse!

Except for the "I believe I can fly" slipped in there, but keep trying.

Your right. I try so hard. I tell myself in the morning,"self, dont be weird today."
Then about 10 minutes into the job, it begins.

Great job.
Only thing I saw wrong is you hang your saw on the left side.

Mine is right

Jesse,
Are you a southpaw/ leftie?

Anybody know of a lefty chainsaw manufacturer, where the bar is on the left side, designed for left hand on the pistolgrip?

No, Im right handed. I know its not right to cross over like that to access the chainsaw and I could try switching but Im a little concerned about my lanyard being right by my chainsaw AND my handsaw. Things get really tied up sometimes. My rope gets wrapped around my bar...flip line wrapped on my handsaw scabbard. I really do need to rethink my rig...

One thing we decided to do different since im getting too weak to carry that saw all over is to have a haul line placed mid point in the tree for the bigger saws to be hauled up and hung on. I love the extra climbing the spider legs made me do but dont want to do that with a big saw on my side

I was just busting your acorns. I dont see any problem with the saw on the left. Comfort is key.

when i first started climbing, my older brother, a long time climber always had his saw on the left.

i thought it didn't make sense if you are right handed, so I changed my first saddle to carry the saw on the right.

this way i can hang up my saw with my right hand and do it quickly, a frequent habbit i have is tossing the saw in the air slightly, catching the saw lanyard at the ring and hanging it up. I do it without thinking about it and it's very fast I think.

I'm trying to get my team-mate climber to change his saw from his left side to the right side to speed efficiency. but once your used to something, you don't want to go through the changing period, i understand that.

Nice job,

Knid of surprised no one said anything about all the swinging of the butts.???? You ever cut one and it swings out past the tip you could be looking at an upside down crane. You know I couldn't let you get off without picking something right.?
