New Singing Tree Rope Wrench from ISC

Rumor has it, that a hard tether in various sizes is going to also be made by Sterling Rope. Any word on this Luke?

ISC really makes some quality gear, but I’m gonna miss the “Made In Detroit” stamping on the side of the RW.

That'd be the 12" Stiffy.

Seriously!!!!

Frax
I bet you giggled like a little girl the whole time you wrote that ;-)

Surely this product could've been produced in the USA?

It means that little bits of metal are being shipped from the UK to the USA when there is already enough metal and know how in the USA to produce this product.

It's like lowering devices, why do large chunks of metal get shipped from the USA to the UK, Europe and beyond (Australia, New Zealand etc) when there are already the materials and know how in these other countries?

is this the global free market in action?

just think it's a pity this particular product could not have been Made in Detriot where it was developed.

I miss the made in detroit also. Gave it its own personality kinda. New one looks very nice but ill stick with what I have.

I miss the Made in Detroit more than anything. That was my biggest heartache about this whole deal. What happened was that I found myself not climbing trees very much all of a sudden and that was not a lifestyle that appealed to me. The folks in wales, this is what they do and they do it well. Its not so much manufacturing help that was needed but navigating CE, navigating testing, instruction protocol etc, as well as liability issues.

All I want to do is climb trees. I was comforted while visiting wales learning that wales was where man first entered the Iron age and extracted Iron from Rock way way back in the day. Maybe in the future when I am more prepared to take on something like this I will bring it back to the D. I do still have a lot of ZK-1's left if anyone is interested :).

I will also not stop making things in Detroit. Maybe just not Rope Wrenches for a while.

whoever told you that may have wanted to believe it was true, but it's highly unrealistic to presume that man entered the iron age in Wales

Just looking at wikepdia, sounds like a few places can claim it. Not wales. Thats funny, i did eat that up. There is a long long tradition of iron working iron there though since 600 bc.

i got the ZK-2 with the 10". came in the mail today and tried it out in my backyard. the 10" stiff tether is too short for my hitch cord. do any of you have a similar issue? im thinking i might have to either make a longer tether or start using shorter spliced hitch cords.

PM Cary Gibson, GibsonTreeCare he will give you some info. Your hitch must be really long, a compact hitch works well for wrenching, that being said I have always used a 30" spliced eye to eye with a VT while using the original wrench and now my home made aluminium one, most dudes use shorter but my setup functions well for me. Will get the ZK-2 but been preoccupied with other stuff besides work lately. Next time show pics it is easier to give suggestions if the setup is shown. Here is basically what I have been using for the whole year, simple and works.
