New Saddle Shopping

Like I said it is a very well thought out harness. Not only does it have lots of adjustment potential, the adjusting hardware makes doing so easy. I like that. All the hardware is top notch too. Though I have been looking at the lower leg to waist belt attachment plates and thinking that the Odin steel ring might work well in that location but I'm not in any hurry to make that change as it works fine as it is.
What systems do you normally climb on? What's your physical build??? The mb 1.0 is quite a bit cheaper, but I just want to be happy with what I get.

I have climbed in many harnesses, the TM S.light, Petzl Sequoia, MCRS and many more older models. I am 5'10 and lightweight 140lbs. The MB should have no trouble fitting a big guy like you.

I climb SRS virtually all the time, only using a MRS system for crane work.

Do you like it more than the mcrs? I like how tailored the sizing is for the mb. I'm debating the v2.0, because if you buy a Cadillac you don't get the base model. Lol

Hey, I'm tall and slender too! Just less slender these days.

I agree with Rico and DSMc. MB is the most comfortable saddle I have ever flown. Be sure to get the suspenders, makes a world of difference. If I had the $$, I would get a v2 and ship my v1 to my daughter's for my northern gear stash and get rid of the weaver saddle I have there.

Gees that's a glowing review. What do you like more than a TM or other competitors?

I just can’t get away from the TreeMotion. I’ve tried, and just keep going back to it. I keep hearing that TreeMagineers are coming out with a new saddle and I would love to see what they dream up to top the TM.

The best features about the TM are:
- The shape of the waist belt portion, which no other saddle on the market has. It wraps in a sort of conical fashion so it resists falling down without being too tight, and it stays very snug in the lower back so small twigs and such can’t fall in there and cause discomfort.
- The Leg Ds are unbeatable. The design has them sitting in the ideal position when everything is weighted, so you never have to fumble to find them in almost any position. I have basically abandoned my Hip Ds.
- There are more adjustment options for gear loops than you could even want, making customized setups a true reality, even on the leg loops.

I've really been debating it. It looks the most supportive. What size are you rico?
Size small. I can't recommend the MB 2.0 saddle enough..August and the boys have done a wonderful job designing this harness. It ticks every box we expect in a modern saddle, and has no weak spots in its game.

I would note the the 2.0 has the adjustment on the upper back pad, which the OG does not. For me that alone is worth the price difference between the two.

How's it for pruning work?

Any news on when the new one is coming out? I'd be interested in seeing what they come up with too. Leg D's are a must. Too many saddles are using the cats paw which has tiny holes for lanyard attachment. The TA has the textile attachments, which surprisingly work well. I rarely use my side D's other than for a two tie in requirement.

I'm not a gear heavy climber, but ease of access is huge for me. I like the solid attachment points the MB and Edlrid offer. After I broke my neck my hands are plumb numb so fumbling about is not easy. That said, a saddle with more forward gear attachment offerings is hard to find.

So much of saddles is personal preference. It's like mattress shopping online. Hence the 20 questions. I appreciate y'all's input.

I am a big fan fly before you buy, so why not order a MB 2.0 and a TreeMo. Play with the 2 best saddles on the market, keep the winner, and send the other back...That way you get the saddle that fits you best...
