new saddle pains

I finally broke down and replaced my 20+ year old saddle with a Butterfly2. I like it a lot except for the fact that at times it puts a terrible strain on the groin muscles and occasionally rips into the poor old testicles. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you correct it? Or do I just have to get used to it. I am not into that kind of masochistic pain.

I so much prefer a hard seat like the Buckingham Traverse, those leg loops are nut crackers, no?

Yeah I have the Tree Austria and noticed the same thing. I put on the bosum seat and the pain was gonna. Know I just use the leg straps as a back up if I were to slip out of the saddle. You can buy a seat for the butterfly 2 which turns it into the dragonfly. Hope this helps.

Slip out of the saddle?

You can slip out of saddles that don't have legstraps. That's why they can them suislide saddles. Most of us seen what happen to that guy on the news a month or 2 ago.. Clip of it is online somewhere.

If you are wearing your saddle correctly, you WILL NOT "slip" out of it. And by correctly I mean TIGHTEN UP THAT BELT.

this is a true story of a guy round these parts.....he was up the top of a ladder cutting branches off a tree. he had one of those old linemen harnesses on, no leg straps. being more of a rounder built fellow i guess he didnt have the hips to hold it in place. he cut a branch dropped his saw, and it pulled his harness down, pants and all! left him standing at the top of the ladder with his arse hanging out.....With the customer watching!!

Leg loop saddles are better for your hips than any other.

I could never get on with them until I found out how to 'adjust myself':

1. Take meat and two veg in one hand, and lift (if you need two hands you're probably in the wrong job).
2.Use free hand to cinch tight leg strap, ensuring it is seated at the top of the thigh.
3. Swap hands to lift, and cinch other leg strap the same.

Avoid wearing trousers with a low crotch - or a fair amount of trouser leg may need to be pulled up.

Hope that helps!
