I think the boulders kept it from being logged. Everything else it that area is relatively small.

Great tree and location. Looks like a rock and tree climbers paradise.

How was that phat red for hollows and such up in the crown? It looks healthy for a big 'un.

I have friends in Asheville, maybe I'll get down there one of these days.

Some hollows for sure, in fact one whole side. My buddy just found another near the base of another climbing area, I never thought about looking so close to these crags. Did you live here in ASheville or just have friends here.PM

that is a great find! looks like a beautiful place to climb as well! however, I recommend using a longer hand-saw to cut it down. kidding!
