New Climbing Line Reccomendation

Hey guys and gals,

Groundie just cut my new climbing line. Grrrrrr! It was the Neo Pro 16 strand 7/16 from TreeStuff.com. I have the Ocean Poly Cord 8mm and am using a hitch climber .

I had no problem with the Neo pro. Just looking for any other suggestions you guys have. I think I got it because it was 7/16" which I wanted to try and I like it and it was .85 a foot so it was pretty inexpensive.

Just trying to turn lemons into lemonade and possibly try something new and or better.

Thanks!

I am in the market for another rope of sorts. So will be watching this tread closely. What do you guys like about the Yale 11.7 ropes and which ones is it that you like. To tell you my Arsenal now I have 1/2 arbormaster and kernmaster Safari.

Knots good, holds up well to abrasion, not bad on the hands, low stretch but not static, slide thru a foot ascender good, pretty good with mechanicals, affordable (I guess not in canada), they have badass colors, and its made by Yale.
My only gripe is that it tends to flatten out going thru my bulldog bone.

It's all Poison Ivy in different color schemes... Aztec, Prism, Sumac, Calamine, Arrowfrog, Blue Moon, Hedera, etc. etc.
As others have said... it's a low stretch, 24-strand double-braid, not as static as some kernmantles... very suitable for both SRT and DdRT climbing.

if you srt a yale 11.7 and the lava rope from sherrill in the same day you will notice the difference big time. the bounce difference is very noticeable. i think tree stuff calls it sumak or something like that. its a fine investment.

Lava is tachyon

I am now stuck between one of the Poison Ivy blend or tachyon. I am looking for something to do both but more Dbrt than anything else. I have my Kernmaster rope for SRT just want something that has the ability to do both. I was thinking vortex just cause it was the same size but have read a few posts where people say that the vortex rope does not feed well though the HH2. Now you see my dilemma..

The Yale 11.7 ropes feed well through the HH2, RW and ZZ. In fact, for me they've been the perfect rope for those devices. The Cougar 11.7 ropes should be as good, from what others have reported... I haven't had the chance to try that one, myself. It's a tad pricey, and I have a bunch of the Yale ropes, so haven't ordered one, yet. But it's high on my list of ropes I'd like to try. The All Gear 11.5 ropes (Rocket, Cherry Bomb, etc.) are another one that I like. Priced very nicely. Also low stretch, and I've used it for both SRT and DdRT with the aforementioned devices. Just something about the feel and hand of the Yale 11.7 ropes that I like better for DdRT with ZigZags.

Really, you can't go wrong with either the Yale 11.7mm, All Gear 11.5mm or New England 11.5mm... so pick a color you like and buy one!

I can't imagine that it was a Vortex problem. I use Vortex exclusively with my HH2 and it is as smooth as can be.
