New Business Hauling Setup/ Chip v. Chipless

I'm lucky to get 10mpg on my 2001 7.3 (yah, OLD and that is mostly without even towing the chipper), but I live in a VERY hilly place and the highest speed limit in the entire county is like 45mph, so I never get anywhere near highway efficacy. That said, the new 7.3 gas seems like a great engine and in like 3 years, if it still holds up I'd love to replace my current truck with a 450/550 gasser.

9-10mpg for ‘99 f450 7.3, same for ‘04 f550 6.0. Old boss’s first gen 6.7 got 10mpg. Come on folks, increase efficiency!
I don’t know
Look at how furnaces , hot water heaters, and etc they are getting more efficient but don’t last as long or as good.

It’s called planned obsolescence. They are made to fail after a certain time period. Had an engineer guess how old a vehicle of mine was to within 1k miles based on me telling him the rear diff blew up in my vehicle.
