New battery powered Husqvarna T536 LiXP

I was able to try this little gem yesterday.
It's still a prototype but probably very close to the production version.
Compared to my Dolmar 3625 this Husqvarna T536 LiXP is a light year leap forwards.
Is the Dolmar a rough saw that takes it's time to cut the wood with a chain speed of 8.3 m/s, this Husky is a smooth ride all the way cutting at 20.0 m/s or in eco mode 14.0 m/s.
The chain speed comes at a price. With the Dolmar you can use the complete 10 inch bar in hardwood without stopping the chain. With the Husky you have to be more gentile and not push it through the wood, but the chain speed makes up for that more than anything.
The Husky comes with a 3.0Ah to give it more than enough stamina to do firm pruning jobs or small take downs.

I haven't got a date of release, sold package (probably saw, two battery's and speed charcher) or price yet, but for me it can't be released soon enough.

[/ QUOTE ]That all depends on how many Long Johns you carry for that round trip Waldo.

Wetting a couple on the way here and staining some on the way back won't help.

Re: Husqvarna T536 LiXP

That's a nice one Grover, glad to see your zooming trough the wood these days, but the Stihl is hardly a top handle and a 6 meters per second short of the Husky's 20.
I know, I know, It's not fair to compare a Dolmar AS3625 and the Stihl MSA160 that are on the marked for a year now to a proto Husky.

BTW, that Stihl battery range was not planned for the professional market. Lets hope the big orange/white will show us a pro top handle with similar specs to the husky's XP.

Grover, how do you like that stihl machine?

I've never used it, the pic was from another forum, I will ask the guy how he likes it and get back to you.

C'mon Wolter, even someone with a basic understanding of engineering mechanics knows that we will never replace the 2 stroke engine. A battery powered saw will never be able to compete with the best 2 stroke engines, its just not possible.

But even if the battery powered saw does eventually win there are still environmental drawbacks such as the toxic waste produced manufacturing the batterys.

[/ QUOTE ] True, or at least that will take a very long time.

[/ QUOTE ] Rephrase that question. The best battery powered saws are better than a 2 stroke engine. Just don't compare apples with pears.

[/ QUOTE ]I really hope (for the planet's sake) that GB and the USA will start to make the recycling busyness a number one busyness.
Why is it that no one mentions the pollution that is produced while building a oil rig, drilling for oil, transporting the crude oil, stocking it, refining it, transporting it, stocking it, spilling it during fuelling and eventually firing up the saw.
How many litres crude oil are needed totally for one litre in your saw.

Battery development and production are monitored better than the big money oil industry that can get away with nearly everything.

Re: Husqvarna T536 LiXP

plus, toxic waste in a manufacturing plant can be contained and dealt with appropriately. Toxic waste spewed into the air is a bit harder to get back.

Ok, I've ordered one of these, will report back soon -

Any one know if the oiler can be adjusted on the t536? It doesn't seem to be pumping much oil, and I do have the 14" bar on. It is pumping some (now that I cleaned the bar out) but not as much as I'd have on any of my other saws.

We have been loving the husky electrics. We demoed the top handle for a few weeks. Bought both the top and rear mount, months ago. Our two 540's are getting neglected. Climbing and bucket tossing use we always go for the electric. Starting a gas saw was never an issue...till you had the option to push a button. Don't know why they did it, but the electric husky can be hooked on the harness one handed... More easily then their gassers. Why not put that catch thing on the gassers? Hmmmm.
We never run out of batteries. Four for two saws. Cutting and tossing is now ruled by battery powered saws.

So wrong. Welcome to the future.

Yea does not seem to be an oil adjuster. Just an oil filter in the same place, as where should be the oil flow adjuster.

Neat looking gadget Treespotter. Curious what the weight of that is? if you have that info...

Looks great for prune jobs...

Treespotter posted some of that info back in 2011. You may get your answer from a Husky spec sheet quicker than waiting for him to reply to this thread.

Saw is great for prune jobs, I have two of them.

Thanks...I'll check it out.

This saw is great for much more than just pruning. I have been going to this saw for most of my small to mid range removals as well. A few weeks ago I did a very tight job. In the picture the first 3 trees came down with one 4.2 battery (everything but felling the 8' spar). they were 55' tall healthy Norway spruce full of limbs. The last tree was a bit taller, at 70' and it took up 3/4 of my second battery. I was absolutely thrilled I didn't have to drag my gas saw through those trees. image.webp
