Have you noticed that since we have won all of Hockey's gold our Doller has gone up in value and that the American dollar is sinking............



Alot of Americans ask me if I miss hockey, I always say NO. Our junior program is so deep up here that there is always a great game to see on any given night. The Oilers farm team, The Edmonton Road Runners are geting up to 14K people at a game. You won't see that happening in the USA. Canada is the Land of Hockey, and Edmonton is it's Capital!
 
Hail Edmonton. :) ah but to have the likes of the 1980 oilers lineup amongst us again for a fleeting moment, who then could say they didn't miss the grown up playing hockey? But I do agree with you, I dont miss it. I was at a trade show in the pacfiic coliseum last weekend, I cant tell you how many guys I bumped in to that were just walking around in a daze staring up at the bleachers and daydreaming. I caught myself doing it too, I remember the last seats I had before they moved, the seats my old man and I got to twice a year as comp tickets from his work back in the 80's.. crappy pne dogs and burgers. walking the concourse on a game night. hearing the foghorn. a REAL pipe organ. Richard Loney singing the national anthem. Thats why I figured I would check out th giants, same building, kids trying hard to make it, should be good fun!

We did have the likes of the 80's Oilers here awhile back on a -23C day, playing a good old game of pond hockey, infront of 50K+ fans.
 
I never did get to see that game. Had to go out of town on short notice, trusted the wife to tape it and came home to a blank tape, oops, sorry she said... SIGH. Ok so I just booked and paid for two tickets to tomorrows Giants vs tri cities game. 3rd row lower level (thats like 8 feet from the glass for you American fans ;) about the face off dot area of the home team. $46 bucks for the pair. couldnt even get in the building for an NHL game for that price I dont think. oh well, heres to good fun!

Yeah, I won like $3000 in three hands and had to go. I'm up above 5 g's right now. I'm a stud playing stud, not a big fan of holdem. I'll try to find you guys on Sat night, Be sure to post where for us Canuks.
