New 346XP

Has anybody purchased a new 346 Husky(new version is 50 cc and has a silver side cover) plus decompression valve etc. Just wandering if increase in power is noticeable and balance, weight issues remained the same. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

There's been mucho discussion about the saw on Arborist Site....

The saw weighs a few ounces more, but cuts a good bit faster, and has a broader torque band. Apparantly, it is in the league of the Dolmar 5100S, but is more nimble.

I'm getting one soon...but will probably have it shipped directly to a builder to modify it. (My standard 346's have both been ported and outcut stockers by 40-50%

I have ran a stock NE346 (no they dont feel as nimble IMHO). There has to be close to a half pound difference then the old 45cc 346 (guessing)and the balance is different then the old 346. Still a nice feeling saw though, just different feel.
I still would take a woods ported 45cc 346 any day over the new one. Unless you were running both stock and then i would take the NE346.

R.B. who does your woods porting? PM if you dont want to put the source in the open.

Ed Heard did several saws for me. His site is down...he's been having health problems. A northern Cal fella is gonna do the 346....treeslingr from ASite....he's been doing good work, it seems.
