My New LIMMER Boots

Well, I actually got my Limmers back in August, but wanted to give them a good break-in period, before speaking about them.

Thanks to our very own TreeBuzz Boot Salesman (aka – BostonBull), I went up to Limmers to JUST LOOK at a pair of boots, but after trying on a pair, I knew that these were a great pair of boots, and ended up buying a pair.

Mine are the stock Limmer Lights and they fit great. I did not rush the break-in period, but have put them through the tests.

Here are a few of the things that I can comment on:
1. The Limmer Lights are by far the best pair of arborist pruning boots that I have ever worn. They beat any pair of Asolos that I have ever tried on.
2. The boot fits your foot like a glove (if fitted properly). Limmer’s takes the time in the shop to correctly fit the boots to your feet (expect at least 20 minutes to walk around the shop wearing the boots).
3. The Vibrum sole is so well constructed, that even on slippery bark, they perform great.
4. I have used them for both removals in spikes and for pruning work. The heel fits well with the spikes, but due to the shorter height of the boot, you do end up with some saw chips and debris in the boot. Not a lot that it makes it discomforting to wear though. I do not know if this is a problem with the Limmer Standards, which have a higher cut.
5. The boots are light enough that your feet do not get as tired, if you’re working the ground all day.

I do limit my Limmers to just pruning work, as I have a nice pair of Klimar Air boots that are great for removal work.

Here are some photos of the Limmer Lights;
