My friend\'s family needs help!

I got an email from a friend of mine yesterday. I had no idea that his family was going through such an ordeal.

Apparently, my friend Shawn's nephew has been separated from his parents for about six months following a phantom head injury. Child protection services took the baby away from the parents based on one doctor's assertion that abuse may have taken place, and even with a second opinion from a specialist, they still retain custody of the child.

They set up a website and asked for anyone who sees it to pass it on in the hopes of raising awareness and hopefully being able to reunite their family.

What a nightmare!

Taking an injured child to a hospital now means risking losing their loss to a bunch of un-accountable zealots.

Great system. I wonder if those CPS people even have children of their own.

You're right!!!

I've had a fresh out of college 22 year old girl from CPS try to tell me how I should be raising my 6 children. That all came about from a hospital ER visit. She wasn't happy when I asked for the search warrant that was required to enter my house.

You are guilty until proven innocent with these agencies.

Thats one of the problems now days its the same with correcting your own kids--If you correct them the way we got corrected you are a bad parent and the state wants to step in but when your going to court cause they are getting in trouble they look at you like a bad parent. One of my friends is going through that with her kid. I will correct my kids there is no way I will tolerate it. I got my A$$ beat growing up and I turned out just fine. They wonder why so many kids are getting in trouble. There is a diffrence between child abuse and correcting your kids the right way. I hope everything works out for your friend.
